Abstract

The epizootic and epidemiological situation regarding natural-focal infectious diseases in the Russian Federation has remained critical for several years. Leptospirosis remains one of the most common natural-focal infections. The presence of a significant number of natural foci in Russia and the formation of stable anthropurgic foci of leptospirosis ensures a constant threat of infection of people and farm animals. A feature of the Krasnodar Territory is the diversity of wildlife, the presence of a large number of various water sources and natural reservoirs, which contributes to increased humidity and high temperatures for a long period. All this is favorable conditions for the long-term existence and circulation of the pathogen in the natural environment. The extensive fauna of this region is a significant reservoir of the leptospirosis pathogen.

Leptospirosis is recorded on all continents except Antarctica. The incidence rate increases in regions with abundant water resources and constant floods, as well as high density of farm animals. Leptospirosis of farm animals, dogs, cats, fur-bearing animals is registered in many European countries, in America, Asia, Africa and Australia. In Russia, the disease is observed almost everywhere, but more often in the southern zones. On the territory of the CIS, it is especially often recorded in the North Caucasus, Dagestan, Armenia, the Volga region, and also Siberia.

The aim of the research was to develop the phytopreparation kargmez to increase the immunity of animals. In patients with leptospirosis of Holstein-Frisian and Ayrshire breeds, there is a decrease in the activity of acid phosphatase, myeloperoxidase, the level of lysosomal cationic proteins, except for the activity of alkaline phosphatase. The Red Steppe breed showed a decrease only in the activity of acid phosphatase, relative to clinically healthy animals. After the use of the phytoimmunopreparation kargmez and etiotropic treatment of leptospirosis, the activation of oxygen-dependent and oxygen-independent microbicidal system occurs, which is most pronounced in Ayrshire breed animals.
