Abstract

The Jersey breed is one of the oldest breeds of high-fat dairy cattle in the world. The breeding of this cattle began on the island of Jersey, hence the name – Jersey. For a long time, this breed remained purebred, and starting from the 19th century it was exported to the USA and Great Britain, and then spread throughout the world. This breed can produce more than 5000 kg of milk per year and is the highest-fat dairy breed, and with good nutrition this figure can reach 10000 kg. The average fat content in milk is at least 6 %. It is because of this content of fat, protein and calcium that farmers buy this animal. The sources lack electrophysiological parameters of heart rate variability of the electrocardiogram of Jersey cows. These indicators could take into account the subtle mechanism of autonomic regulation of the heart, which would add data to veterinary medicine, allow it to expand its diagnostic base of the most common heart diseases in this breed, since there is a relationship between milk productivity and the cardiovascular system.

The aim of the scientific work was to analyze changes in the electrophysiological parameters of variation pulsometry of Jersey cows. During the research, the values of the P, T waves and the P-Q interval were established. These indicators can be considered breed characteristics of this studied group of animals. When sympathetic activity changes from "vagotonia" to "hypersympathicotonia", the value of the stress index of regulatory systems increases. When analyzing the P wave, a picture is observed, this value also increases with sympathetic activity, the T wave shows the same picture of an increase in the numerical value with an increase in the initial vegetative tone. But the value of the P-Q interval, on the contrary, decreases with an increase in sympathetic activity. With an increase in activity from "vagotonia" to "sympathicotonia", milk productivity increases, i.e. activation of the sympathetic autonomic nervous system enhances the activity of the hormone oxytocin, which affects the intensity of milk ejection. In "hypersympathicotonics", hyperfunctions of cardiac activity are most likely observed, and milk productivity decreases.
