Social stress is a significant factor in the development of psychosomatic disorders. Consequently, the search for effective herbal remedies for the correction of stress-induced conditions, which have high anxiolytic activity with a minimum of side effects, remains a priority of modern science. Therefore, the aim of study was to investigate the effect of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi extract on the behavioral status and anxiety levels of rats with different dominance types under social stress. To achieve this aim, an experiment was conducted on 300 white male rats, divided into three series of six groups. As part of the methodology, the social stress model was reproduced by the method of daily inter-male confrontations for 21 days, which made it possible to identify specific groups of "aggressors" and "victims" for further analysis. Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi extract (100 mg/kg) was administered intragastrically using a medical probe. Behavioral responses were assessed using "Dark-Light Chamber", "Elevated Plus Maze" and "Open Field" tests. Social stress was found to induce profound suppression of exploratory activity, most pronounced in submissive individuals, manifested by decreased locomotion (p<0.01) and increased emotional tension (p<0.01). Use of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi extract demonstrated a significant stress-protective effect. Positive dynamics were also observed in the "aggressor" group, including restoration of exploratory behavior and a significant decrease in autonomic markers of emotional tension (p<0.01). A 14-day course of treatment with Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi extract effectively reduced anxiety and normalized the body's adaptive capacity. Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi extract has pronounced anxiolytic properties, mitigating the negative effects of social stress. The drug's maximum corrective effect was observed in individuals with a submissive behavior type, confirming its potential for treating disorders caused by social maladjustment.
